In 1800s Texas, in the town of Clover, Darlene Nightingale inherits the combined titles of sheriff and judge.

Darlene, quick with a revolver and Texas tough, is respected by the citizenry for her no nonsense methods.

And while sitting on the bench to pronounce sentences of death, Darlene dons a black cap she fashioned herself.

But things go wrong for Darlene Nightingale when some consider she's grown too big for her boots.

This tale of the old west is another unforgettable story from Robert E. Kearns.
